Quite simply, I want to share my joy of astronomy with everyone.  This includes students in the classroom, folks at the local library, or visitors to the Karl G. Henize Observatory at Harper College where I volunteer.

Astronomy is not only the oldest of the sciences, it is also the most accessible to the non-professional.  Anyone can look up at the night sky and enjoy the wonder and beauty of the heavens.  Amateur astronomers and students with modest modern equipment can contribute to scientific discoveries.

Plus, astronomy is FUN!  It is a wonderful way to get anyone excited about science.
